Established 1987

 

Nestled on Queensland’s Redcliffe Peninsula, our club was founded by a group of passionate shooters who shared a simple vision — to create a welcoming place where the traditions of clay target shooting could be enjoyed by all.

 

Since 1987, RCCTC has grown from a local shooting club into one of Australia’s most respected clay target facilities. Through the dedication of our volunteers, members and supporters, we have continually invested in our grounds, our facilities and our community.  

 

Today, our range features three Down-The-Line layouts, two Compak Sporting layouts and Queensland’s only operational shot curtain — helping establish RCCTC as a truly unique venue within Australian clay target shooting.  

 

But our story is about more than targets and trophies.

 

It is about Saturdays spent with friends, introducing newcomers to the sport, passing knowledge from one generation to the next, and ensuring our range remains a place where both shooting and environmental stewardship can thrive together.

 

From our commitment to sustainable practices and responsible land management, to investing in environmentally conscious products such as Eco Friendly clays, we are proud to leave our range better than we found it.

 

Our Grounds currently has,

Down the Line (DTL):
​This is 'Normal trap' shooting where the clay comes out of the trap within an arc of 30 degrees horizon and 30 degrees vertical. This is what beginners will learn first.

Sporting Clays:
This is a layout where the clays are programmed to come from various places on the range, one of the shots that people have fun with is the 'Rabbit' as it runs along the ground. Sporting clays are great but not necessarily set up each weekend, so we will announce this on our Facebook page when it will be available.
